History of Group Health
Group Health Cooperative began in 1947 as a community coalition dedicated to providing available and affordable health insurance. Group Health Cooperative is one of the few health insurance organizations that is completely governed by its consumers.
Group Health Plans
Group Health members can choose from a variety of health insurance plans to fit their health care and budget needs.
Care is provided by Group Health Permanente doctors and other clinicians at facilities operated by Group Health. In areas where Group health doesn't own facilities or for plans offering more choices, a network of more than 9,000 community clinicians and 39 hospitals are available.
Group Health also offers plans for Medicare recipients, federal and state employees, and group plans.
Recognitions & Awards
J.D. Power and Associates ranked Group Health as being the highest in member satisfaction in the Northwest region.
Group Health Physicians was recently (2010) awarded the 2010 Acclaim Award from the American Medical Group Association. This is the first time a medical group has received this award on its first try.
The National Committee for Quality Assurance ranks Group Health in 11th place for the best Medicare plan in the country. And 2010 marked the third year that Group Health ranked in the top 15 plans.
