IBM researchers developed a software program that can track a patient"s medical records with a 3D interactive representation of the human body. Doctors just need to click on a part of the body, and they get all the medical information regarding that part.
Andre Elisseeff, an IBM researcher working on the program explains in an eHealthInsider article:
“It’s like Google Earth for the body. In hopes of speeding the move toward electronic health care records, we’ve tried to make information easily accessible for health care providers by combining medical data with visual representation, making it as simple as possible to interact with data that can improve patient care. ”
Will this be the new technology that improves communication between doctors and actually makes health care more efficient and effective? That"d be wonderful.
