Poll Find Most Americans Want Health Care Change
Thursday Aug 07, 2008Poll Find Most Americans Want Health Care Change in Individual Health Insurance
A new poll
conducted by the Commonwealth Fund, a non-profit health care organization,
found over 80 percent of Americans want major change in our health care system
in the U.S.
Here’s the poll broken down a bit further: 82 percent said the health care system needed fundamental change or a complete rebuilding; 16 percent said the system only needs minor reform.
There wasn’t even much difference between those who have health insurance and those who don’t — 81 percent of insured Americans and 89 percent of uninsured thought the system needed a fundamental change or complete rebuilding.
The poll also found that 9 out of 10 people thought health insurance should be simplified, reported a Reuters article.
Seems like there’s pretty broad agreement among everyone that our health care system needs more than just a face-lift.
“It’s clear that our health care system isn’t giving Americans the health care they need and deserve,“ said Commonwealth Fund president, Karen Davis.
