Former Senator Tom Daschle Nominated as Health and Human Services Health Secretary

According to The New York Times, President-Elect Barack Obama has nominated Tom Daschle, a former Senator from South Dakota, to be the U.S. Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.

Daschle has accepted the nomination, reported the Times.

The former Senator has written a book about health reform entitled “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis ” where he proposes a health care and insurance reform plan similar to President-Elect Obama and Senator Max Baucus.

Is real change coming to the health care system? With the Daschle nomination, it’s now even more likely.
