REMINDER: It’s now December 19, — only 12 days away from 2009 and only 12 days away from the last day of Medicare open enrollment.

Until December 31, 2009, any American 65 years or older can enroll in a Medicare health plan for the first time or switch their Medicare coverage to a plan that better fits their needs.

What Medicare plans are we talking about?

• Medicare Part A and B
• Medicare Advantage
• Medicare Supplement
• Medicare SELECT
• Medicare Part D (prescription drug plan)

Once the open enrollment period ends, you’re stuck with your plan until 2010.
