President Obama Addresses The Nation in Primetime On Health Insurance and Health Care Reform
Thursday Jul 23, 2009President Obama Addresses The Nation in Primetime On Health Insurance and Health Care Reform in Politics and Legislation
Last night, President Obama held a press conference in primetime
to address all concerns about the health care and health
insurance reform bills that are being drafted in both Houses of
Congress.
The first reactions from news analysts and political pundits was that the president didn’t offer much clarity on what was to come and left many of the critical details, such as how we were going to pay for it all, more or less up in the air.
But if you don’t listen the political pundits, this press conference was probably nothing short of a success for the president. What most pundits never talk about is the fact that the average American doesn’t pay attention to them at all.
They do, however, pay attention when the president speaks directly to them in a primetime T.V. slot. And President Obama is a gifted public speaker who is able to connect to his audience very well — even though many of his critics lambaste him for “lecturing.”
We twittered a bit about what we thought, but let us know what you thought too. Click here to see the full press conference courtesy of WhiteHouse.gov.
