The Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP) in Idaho is not a public program and is similar to Idaho health insurance policies in which enrollees have to pay monthly premiums and out-of-pocket expenses.
Enrollees in the Idaho PCIP will pay about the same that people without medical conditions pay for health insurance. The estimated monthly premium cost for Idaho residents is $246 for ages 0 to 34; $295 for ages 35 to 44; $377 for ages 45 to 54; $524 for ages 55 and older. There will also be a $2,500 deductible that must be met every year before health insurance benefits kick in. The out-of-pocket maximum is set at $5,950.
Idaho residents with medical conditions will have health insurance coverage for doctor and hospital visits, emergency services, prescription drugs and more.
Individuals are eligible for Idaho PCIP if they are a United States citizen, have a pre-existing condition and have been uninsured for six months.
