Residents in New York with pre-existing conditions can get health insurance from a high risk pool set up by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
The Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP) in New York will run similar to regular New York health insurance plans. The plans will require enrollees to pay affordable premiums and out-of-pocket costs.
